Our History

 

Arcane Arts Alchemy and Apothecary is a company with an old soul. Our story began many years ago, before we ever poured our first pitcher of wax or filled a single candle mold. Our story begins with our friends and mentors, Kim and Greg. 

​

Kim and Greg owned a successful, international candle business for many years. As the founders and original owners of Sweet Spirit Candles, they led the industry in quality, handmade chunk candles. Each candle featured a crystal or gemstone that worked in harmony with the scents and colors to bring a specific intent for the user.

Eventually, they sold the business. But their love for candle making never waivered, and eventually they re-opened on a smaller scale, naming their new business Metamorphic Perspectives. Although they sold on a much smaller scale, they produced the same high-quality, handmade candles as their original business. Well-loved and highly regarded, Kim and Greg embody what it means to be true, soulful entrepreneurs and friends.

Faced with a new, exciting opportunity out-of-state, Kim and Greg could no longer continue their candle business. At the same time, we had been making candles as a hobby for several years and were ready to take the next steps towards starting our own business. Needless to say, the stars aligned and Arcane Arts was born. Not only did we acquire their equipment and supplies, Kim and Greg mentored us on their tried-and-true techniques, helped us set up our workshop, introduced us to business accounts, and shared their best formulas with us. We are eternally grateful for their love and support of our journey, and we honor them and keep their business spirit alive in the intentional candles we make today.
